“The Human Condition” —Rene Magritte

Rene Magritte is a very interesting artist. He has been known for incorporating surrealism into a lot of his works and using his paintings to exercise the human mind. This particular painting, “The Human Condition” shows what at first glance looks like an open window, depicting a green meadow outside. Upon second glance, you may then notice a easel & board clip. This image offers the question, “how do we as humans perceive things?” Many times, human beings accept a lot of things that aren’t real but seems acceptable in their minds. We see things we want and not necessarily how they really are. We only use about 10-15% of our brains, which forces us to sometimes narrow-mindedly (don’t know if that’s a word lol) see things in a certain light. Reality is not always how you see it.
